Virtual May Crowning...

Today is the first Sunday of May, and many churches would have held their May Crowning celebrations this afternoon (or in the coming weeks). Like with so many other events in the present time, including weekly and daily Masses, Mundelein Seminary went Virtual with their ceremony this year. Here is a link to watch it.

Watching the May Crowning online, while not the same as participating in person, was a beautiful experience. There was music and a lovely homily by Fr. Kartje, the rector at Mundelein seminary.

We still honor Mary, our mother and the mother of the church.
We still celebrate her "yes" to God to be the mother of Jesus.
We still pray through her intercession for our needs.
We still come together as a church in the midst of this pandemic.
